Brewed my first all grain today. It was one of the 3 gallon BIAB kits from NB. I used my 7.5 gallon turkey frying pot to mash in and it worked very well. I had a little trouble holding a steady temp, but I expected that because I didn't insulate it and the pot was too tall to fit in my oven. Had a little leak on my IC, which I'm sure is fine because the wort was still at over 170f. The only thing that worried me was a little fly landed on the aerated wort/foam while I was pitching my yeast. So without thinking, I reached in, scooped it out of the foamed up wort on the top and got it out. I'm sure it'll be fine, but I thought I would share my first all grain experience. My OG is 1.056 and the kit calls for 1.060, which I can attribute to a higher volume of wort left at the end of the boil. All in all a very fun experience!
