This is going to be our first AG brew, I'm sure there'll be hiccups but what the hell, fingers crossed it'll work out.
What do the experts think?

I would try to up the base malt and keep the cara as the crystal below 10% and you'll get better attenuation so the beer finishes around 1.010, IMO 1.016 is a little too sweet for an IPA unless you want a maltier beer but i like mine a little drier than that

Only got the 5kg so will just have to run with that. Thanks for the input

Are you shooting for a particular hop flavor and aroma? Or are you unloading whatever hops you have into the beer?

Like I say, it's a bit if an experiment, read loads of IPA recipes and read good things about these hops. It's all happening right now so we will see what happens.

Update : So far so good, dry hopped today, will be in for 4 days till Sunday, when we bottle up.

OG was 1.052, came down nicely to FG 1.012,quite pleased with that, already a great aroma before dry hopping.

Really looking forward to drinking some of this.

So we have my first all grain IPA and have to say it has turned out well. Nice hoppy aroma, not too heavy, more than pleased with this first effort. If it was served to me in a bar I'd be happy to drink it.
Next time will look for a bit more carbonation and will have to read up on how to achieve better head retention. Time to buy some more ingredients for our next session. :)
Slainte!!

Cheers man. Got loads of info from this site. Can't wait to get brewing again.
