I got a turkey fryer for my birthday (propane boils water SOOOOOO much faster than an electric stove), and brewed up my first AG batch yesterday.
Kolsch style to keep it simple, got the recipe from another post on here.
7lbs 2 row
2.5 lbs german wheat
1 oz perle @ 60
.5 oz tettnanger @15
.5 oz tettnanger @5
SafBrew WB06 (different than the yeast from recipe posted)
Batch sparge due to space and equipment constraints
Ended up just under 5 gal, started to get too much trub when racking to primary. I had it on the boil too long before hopping. I was trying to get the volume down a bit and being my first batch, I didn't really know when to quit
OG was 1.050, and she is a bubbling away today! I can't wait to see how it comes out. If this turns out I really want to do an Imperial Stout next.
