C'mon man, will someone please, make a 6 pack of berlinner in this region for $10 already? Screw it. 4pk/$10 seems like a steal compared to this ****.

There's no good reason a larger brewery couldn't turn out a 3-4%abv 'typical' unfruited Berliner in under two weeks.

If you do an all lacto ferment with appropriate cell count pitch, it'll sour in a day or so if held at 110-120F.
Bring back to kettle to kill it off when you hit the desired ph, then chill and pitch yeast. Bam. 3 day ferment tops. Or don't kill it at all.
If we ran a normal brewery, that's how we'd do it instead of this half year average ********.

That's awesome! But you still use some yeast, right? Not just bacteria?

It's pretty likely I'll be going up to Barrelworks this Saturday with gopackgo58 maybe getting there about noon.
Hopefully the new beers will be on tap to preview before the release next week!

I'm guessing they do not allow bringing outside alcohol in to share?

I have been there on a Friday and Jeffers was opening bottles to share, but not sure how they feel about outsiders doing it.

Thank you! I have been saying this for years and keep hearing from the peanut gallery "it isn't that simple". It may not be "as" simple as an IPA, but it isn't much harder. Hell, lagers take longer to condition than a Berliner.

A lot longer than a Berliner! I got a berliner from yogurt starter to bottle-conditioned in under 3 weeks, and I have no idea what I'm doing.

I am not a sour or Berliner guy at all, but I am 95% sure that Bretta Rose is as much of a Berliner as Stickee Monkee is a "Central Coast Quad" and DDBA is an "Imperial ESB" or whatever stupid name they gave it. I like my infected beers fruited so I thought it was very solid, but not a berliner.

No idea, probably because they don't brew a lot of these component beers to a specific style, so they just try to pick one and add a change to it. Firestone doesn't really need to play games with the names of the styles of their releases, pretty sure if you have had a FW boxed beer you will give the rest a chance too no matter the style.

I'm really going to miss their beers. Seriously, I probably consume more of their beer than any other brewery. It's a sacrifice worth making imho. Not to turn this thread toxic, but I just can't see giving anyone money that financially supports what I see is a very destructive force.

No I do not research everything I buy and check who/what that organization may have supported at one time. When I do learn that said organization does something I strongly oppose with their money, and I try to make sure none of it is coming from me. That's reasonable, no?

Truth be told, I worked for almost two decades with a company that has some pretty ****** political views. At the end of the day, people are people and if there's one thing that can bring folks together that have vastly different view points on the world, it's beer.
