Definitely gonna head up, looks like a great beer. Hopefully they still have some Lil Opal left too.

Surprised no one has pointed this out yet.

"Save-the-Date! Barrelworks is releasing their 3rd bottled offering, Bretta Rosé, on Saturday, May 17th! Rumor has it there will be some Monkees around too... Stickee Monkee, that is!"

Bretta Rosé, a Berliner Weisse style fermented with fresh local raspberries $13.99 each 6 bottle limit.

Stickee Monkee and this the same day! I know where I'll be the 17th.
stakem 1v1willwreku and the whole Berliner crew. Looks like 500 cases, can't really read it.

Holy.
*******.
****.
$13.99 for a 375 of Berliner.
Please don't hate us when (hahaha) we get close to that for a 750.
I love firestone. Really. Probably biggest money we spend on an brewery.
Aaaaand there goes the FWIBF invite for next year.
:(

B-b-but barrels!

I think I nailed this price prior to release. They charged the same for a Saison. I don't really get into these type of beers, but isn't this about the same price as the RR sours? Also I have no idea what it means but on the label it has a total acidity of 9.1. Feral One was at 5.8 and Lil Opal was 4.1. Sounds super sour.

Double edit a google search for Bretta rose leads to this site with my Feral one shelf turding picture.

Hmm, I assumed it meant pH, like Jester King always notes, and that would mean that a lower number is more acidic. If it were 9.1, that'd make no sense, though.

A google search puts wine in the 2.9-3.9 range so I think it might be different.

Put google there not to call you lazy put to say I have no idea what it means.

And to prove my point the 2.9-3.9 is the PH level and it says it doesn't mean the same thing as total acidity. SO I have no idea.

Pricing a Berliner in the same range as Supplication is ridiculous.
I think it is priced higher than it should be. I think they are trying to pay off the puncheons they aged this in, and I have no idea about sour prices in general or what the main difference between a Berliner and Supplication. Is it the ABV? Is it the style? I highly doubt this is a true berliner since they call it a Berliner Style.

A Berliner Weisse is not typically barrel aged at all.

It's pretty likely I'll be going up to Barrelworks this Saturday with gopackgo58 maybe getting there about noon.
Hopefully the new beers will be on tap to preview before the release next week!

Anyone else going there that day?
I'm guessing they do not allow bringing outside alcohol in to share?

So . . . a berlinner weisse costs almost 3x as much as GI bourbon county stout does per oz?

C'mon man, will someone please, make a 6 pack of berlinner in this region for $10 already? Screw it. 4pk/$10 seems like a steal compared to this ****.

Jeez, Hottenroth seems like such a steal at $6.39/750ml on the website. . .

Seems like they should have just called Bretta Rose an American wild ale. It's barrel-aged and probably isn't very close to a traditional Berliner. Their prices are somewhat high to start with, but it makes sense to me that this is in-line with their other Barrelworks stuff.

nope. never. we will never get that.

Aw man, you jinxed it. Give it a few years and I wouldn't be surprised if New Belgium started doing it... we'll see. Bombers of Le Terroir for $7 are nice when I find em. And a ****** GROWLER of La Folie was just $15 when I was in Portland last summer... wtf?!

Last I heard they mis-priced Le Terroir/La Folie everywhere since it had a generic Lips of Faith SKU - it should be $15+ (that's the brewery's price) and I bet that problem will get fixed within a year.

That makes sense. How about the Portland growlers? It was at Belmont Station during Puckerfest, and they certainly seem to know what they're doing. And it was 2012 La Folie, as well. I guess they were trying to get rid of it? Or maybe Portlanders saw $15 for a growler and scoffed because they get fills for $8-$10 usually?

Le Terroir has been $7 here in 2011 and 2013. I think that's the real price. La Folie has always been twice that, and half as good (inb4 cork & caged nerd says bbbbutttt back in 2007 . . . )

Hi all,

I work at NBB and can comfirm that the SKU code was mistakenly placed on Le Terroir bottles for the $8-$9 Lips of Faith instead of the appropriate SKU which would be for $17. We were able to change that here in CO (by HAND, mind you) to reflect the appropriate price, but some stores outside CO still have it selling at the mistake price.

We are in no way, shape, or form trying to charge people in CO more for any reason, this was just a collasal mess-up that is currently being taken care of.

Please bear with us! And thank you for supporting us and enjoying Le Terroir!

Cheers,

Drew
