It has been about 2 months since I first got into homebrewing and I am now just hitting the sweet spot. My first beers are bottling conditioning now and I have a good staggering of dates of brews in primaries. I still have 2 kits left from my last order so I figure ill be brew one every other weekend.

Im finally getting to the good spot where I can be either brewing, switching to secondary, or bottling something each weekend. The first 2 months were painful to just sit and watch the beer.

Wait. You said it's painful to just sit and watch the beer??? There are people on this site that could do that for days! (and have):mug:

Keep that pipeline going, my friend!

Im not saying i dont sit and watch my beer ferment but its pretty painful when you brew it watch it and then cant drink any of it for a couple of weeks. Its especially painful when your first starting because the lead time on the first bottle is usually 1-2 months off.

Now that I got a good amount brewed im gonna keep it so i never have to wait 2 months for beer again.

Yup.. watching beer... while not having one in had is tough.
As I've got two on tap, this latest creation has gone rather smoothly and there isn't quite the "Anxiousness" of the first two, as I can take a reading, write it down and then turn arround and draw a pint off the keg and enjoy myself.
However there is still that anticipation of what the new beer will taste like and "how good might it be" running through my brain... But the beer in hand quickly quells the thoughts as I enjoy what I have already created.

So enjoy and keep that pipeline going so you don't run out and find yourself in that "beginning" situation where you don't have anything to tap into!

Cheers

Isn't it a nice feeling seeing that pipeline right over the horizon? I've got batch number 1 all in the fridge now. Number two about a week out of being ready (I tried one last night - it was good). Three and Four a couple weeks behind it. 5, 6, 7 and 8 all currently fermenting. Mmmmm, beer.

Yea - when the pipeline is purring there is a feeling of contentment. HOWEVER - Now I realize no beer has ever lasted over 4 months so I am putting 1 6 pack away until the 6 month period - all of a sudden I feel I have MUCH less beer.

That and I took 3 weeks off from brewing !!! So don't get cocky - all it takes is bad timing and you are screwed LOL

You should pride yourself for that patience, xxdcmast. You waited the 2 months, instead of 2 weeks (1 primary, 1 bottle).

That was my original plan when I first opened the kit and read the directions. I thought for sure I could have beer ready in under a month. Sure it would have been beer and it probably would have been ok but im glad I found this board and the many reccomendations for long primary.

That said i am sure that the beer I will be drinking once ready will be much better than the 2-3 week batch I would have had.

I have 2 kits left on standby which I plan to brew every other weekend and by then im sure I will either re-up with more kits or maybe begin going AG.
