So I am still new to brewing but have been having great success and fun brewing all grain recipes. (I used to use mr beer kits). I am still bottling my batches. My biggest issue is filtration, Is there a better way to filter out all the stuff instead of letting it all settle before bottling and then trying to make sure i don't suck it up into the siphon?

Cheers!

If you filter prior to bottling there won't be any yeast left to carbonate.

Don't use a filter, you are likely to introduce oxygen.

Just leave it in the fermenter an extra week. The beer will clear more and the sediment cake will pack a little harder.

Another option would be to use a secondary. That way, when you come to bottle, there will be less sediment for you to disturb.

Use a paint strainer bag around the end of your siphon. Obviously this will allow yeast through but will block most trub.

Thanks for suggestions. I really want to reduce the amount of trub because I am entering this beer into a comp. Just two bottles though.
