Hello,

Im new here. Just received my 1st homebrew kit and I have begun to buy the things I need to make a kegerator. I am very interested in filtering my homebrew....so I have some questions.

1) do I have to do a 2 keg setup in order to filter my beer? Couldnt I just put the filter between the keg and the faucet? Thereby saving some money and space...

2) What kind of filter would you reccomend and why?

3) how do you get the homebrew into the keg? I know that sounds stupid...but I have no idea how to do it...

Thanks,

if you only want one keg, you'll have to get a food-grade pump. i'd recommend just getting the second keg, you'll find a use for it somehow... haha.

i got a household sediment filter housing, and you can buy standard sized sediment filters of varying degrees of filtering level, from .5 micron to 30+ micron. lower will clarify better for you. big argument on whether you should filter or not, but decide for yourself and experiment if you like.

you pour your beer through the top lid of the keg to get stuff in, or you pump it through the posts. like if you were filtering, you'd go from post to post.

there are also plate filters which have some additional features, but are also a bit more costly and the pads are one time use only, i believe.
