Making the leap into AG.

I currently do 5G extracts in a cheap 5G Walmart stockpot (partial boils) with good enough results for my taste.

I want switch over to 5G AG batches so I'm looking at going with a 10G Home Depot rubbermaid cooler MLT with copper manifold + ball valve.

Looking for advice on what to buy for BK and how to handle strike/sparge water. I figure 10G SS BK with ball valve and thermometer is ideal. Not sure about how to handle strike/sparge water.

I live in an apartment with gas range so I'm looking for an ideal, compact solution that maximizes brew day convenience. Not really interested in BIAB at this point.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

All you need is this cooler conversion...https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/cheap-easy-10-gallon-rubbermaid-mlt-conversion-23008/ and this pot...Bayou Classic 1044 44-Quart Stainless-Steel Stockpot

I just purchased these and can't wait to get started. You can use your old 5 gal pot to handle strike/sparge water.

If your apt. has a place to put a burner you can get one cheap on Craigslist or the turkey fryer option at Lowe's. Still a small foot print and going into the winter months it provides nice heat on the patio.
