Every single one of those brewery names are terrible. It's crazy to me that you open a business with your livelihood attached to it and those are the names you choose.

illinois beer...puns and pigs. my current new favs are kings and convicts (with their flagship beer kings bitch) and guncraft, which advertises guns on instagram and on their labels. wonder why beer is considered low/middle brow.

Not this Thursday (Thanksgiving), but next Thursday (11/30), several of us who have done the last couple of Catalina BIFs decided to get together in person, which turned into inviting other TBers (IRL friends who are not in Catalina), which morphed into "well, why don't we just invite all FIBs?"

So if anyone is free (when? TBD, but after work) on 11/30 - we're going to meet here, across from Union Station (and close enough to several El lines): https://littletoasted.com/

Fwiw, Kathleen (formerly of Goose Clybourn) and the rest of the Bayless Group event people have always been good at pushing the events at Cruz. Brings in a diverse mix of folks differing from the typical beer release / tape vent

They end up well attended but nothing ridiculous. Still a great place to chill on non event days. I guess a bottle release like this might certainly end up a stress test tho.

I tried the Denali Gold at the taproom few months back - as an offset to my attempts to drink as much of the keg of vosj as I could

Told beeraficionado id buy the **** outa 18 racks of that. So I’m pretty pumped to try it out on the full hero treatment.

Pro tip you see odd variations on cross of gold at the taproom that’s the brewers playing around with new hero hops

And how long was the real Wooden Hell in barrels for? 12 months doesn't seem like much for a "private reserve".

the beauty that regular was 9 months but reserve is an extra 3 months and costs 5 dollars more is so beautifully flossmoor.
