Finished up at Moody Tongue, and it must have been industry night as folks from Haymarket and Revolution were hanging out.

Another spot in Pilsen that was doing its best to hide the front door on a Chicago evening.

Tap list was on point this evening with a Barrel Aged Peach Saison aged in Sangiovese barrels and a Barrel Aged Purple Raspberry Wild to start.

Ordered the German Chocolate Cake, and it certainly didn't disappoint (although it did take 3 people to finish a slice). The bar manager Marita gave us a pour of of the Smoked Applewood Gold to pair with the cake, and it worked better than the Bourbon Barrel Aged 12 Layer Cake Imperial Stout I ordered.

A little bit pricey, but the beers were fantastic, the staff was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was unique among the places I've been in Chicago.
 
Why are people/businesses 'cellaring' Coffee beer? Max profit$?
Can you CC Goose on this question? Do they really need to release all 6 beers on the same day so I can get a coffee beer bottled in July? Sell the damn beer when it is ready. BCBCS is literally 4 months old on release day. That's just a shame.

I would also be happy if they were just able to make more quantity of coffee ... theres never enough of that around here.

Thanks for all the Cafe Deth love. We're real excited about how it's tasting as well. It is indeed still for sale on-site, but I wouldn't expect it to last more than a few more weeks. I think there's somewhere in the 100-150 case range left, 6 per case. When it's gone, it's gone and we have no way of knowing if that will last until the next release on Dec 8th.

For anyone looking for a used Deth's Tar barrel from this year's release, those are on sale now in increments of 2 and 8, probably won't last more than a few more days. https://revbrew.com/shop/2-used-barrels

So I have two tickets to each of the next two Bears home games (12/3 vs. the 49ers and 12/24 vs. the Browns, Section 431). Due to family stuff that has been finalized in the last couple days, I will not be able to attend either BUT you- yes YOU- FIBs have a shot at seeing them actually win a game against two of the other worst teams in the NFL!

So basically... FT: Bears Tix, ISO: Whatevs.

Seriously, I'll meet you and give you tickets and take your Cantillon whalez or a 4 pack of Cafe Deth or a Deth's Tar barrel (I NEED A NEW RAIN BARREL) or a 4 pack of Daisy Cutter or plastic baggies of More Pastry Stouts or Challengers Comics gift cards or 18-24 month baby clothes or whatever you feel is fair to see this trash fire of a football team.

Just take regular and blend in like 3 oz cold brew and you have bcs coffee.

I actually did this the other week with some Black Cat espresso cold brew and a bottle of 2016. I had heard 10% dilution with double strength cold brew, so I did a 1 part coffee to 8 parts water ratio and added 50ml to a 500ml bottle. Turned out pretty damned damned close.

Right - I'm sure it's not a difficult thing to pull off since they literally just add cold brew coffee to the regular BCS. It wouldn't be difficult for someone who wanted to mess around with dilution rates to take an average of the regular BCS ABVs, then check what this year's coffee variant ABV is, and dilute with coffee to match.

Or you could probably make a better version by coarse grinding a few grams of your favorite bean and slowly adding to a french press until you get the flavor you like. No dilution, max coffee flavor.

I know it’s dark matter and I think gaslight isn’t there one more coffee in there? It’s anazing whatever it is
 
God, I want to by a Coffee Eugene keg, even though I don’t own any way to dispense it. I just want to have it for occasional cuddles and family photos...
I am still (and by me I mean it's in Gonzoillini 's garage) sitting on half a keg of Sarparilla 6. Need to work on the fix Tony's tap fund first... then drink kegs we have, then buy rev kegs.
