Hi guys - have a Porter currently ending it's fermentation stage. According to the hydrometer I think it is currently at about 3.8% alc (OG 1040 FG 1011)

If I bottle it now with carbonation drops, will there be a secondary ferment in the bottle that raises the alc level? Or should I leave it in the bucket for longer?

thanks for any wisdom shared :drunk:

What does the recipe say your FG should be? 1.011 is fairly low for a porter, so my guess is it's done. There is a very small fermentation in the bottle, but it will have no measureable effect on your ABV. You don't want to bottle too early, or you risk bottle bombs.
