Anyone have any pics of their set up using fermonster lids for closed 02 transfers to kegs. Soon to try this as I ordered two red caps without the hops to fabricate something myself.
Appreciate any feedback.

Do your fermenters have spigots? I have a pair of 3 gal Fermonsters with spigots. I do closed transfers with a tube from the spigot to my keg liquid post, and a tube from the keg gas post that connects to my stopper in the list (this tube is my blowoff tube that I connect to a gas fitting). I purge the keg with CO2, then as I fill the keg the CO2 from the keg fills the headspace of the fermenter. This requires gravity for the transfer, since it is not under pressure.

My fermonsters don't have spigots but have the template there to add them. Do you like the way the transfer works and do you think it helps the quality of your beer? Probably so and maybe even more with ipa.
thanks for the info

The transfer process works well. I tend not to brew a lot of light beers, but I am starting to think that oxidation was a problem in my beers that I did not notice as it is easy to get covered up by with dark malts or crystal malts. I have not done any side by side batches of closed transfer vs non-closed.

I was inspired by this:

I do the same as cascadesBrewer; I transfer out of a spigot at the bottom and feed the displaced CO2 from my purged keg back in through the top. In order to make hooking up the CO2 line easier I have one of the ss carbonation caps with the hose barb which I have a short piece of tubing on that then pushes through the #10 bung. My blow off tube has a ball lock qd on it so I can hook up the blow off for primary fermentation and then hook up a gas jumper from my serving keg. I was initially really worried that the spigot would be an issue gunking up or with sanitation but in the end I couldn't be happier. I find I leave less beer behind than my racking cane days and it's so much easier to get the transfer going.
