fermenting a pale ale with a dark ale yeast?

good afternoon gentlemen I was wondering what would happen if I made A Sierra Nevada pale ale clone but fermented with a dark ale yeast... if anyone's tried anything similar please share your results Thanks
 
Yea sorry about that guys the yeast is mangrove jacks craft series m03 new castle dark ale yeast ... Thanks
 
Yeast is yeast. A "dark ale" yeast may be one that helps highlight the flavors of darker grains just as a "Burton" yeast recreates the flavor profile of yeasts used in ales from Burton-on-Trent (like Bass). You can still use them on other brews and might even like the results. As long as you are not trying to replicate a specific flavor profile (like a West Coast IPA), you can use whatever yeast you want.

So, from the sound of it, M03 is suited for maltier styles like English brown ale and Scotch ale. It is meant to leave some residual sweetness and accentuate dark fruity esters.

It'll still make beer. If you're going for a SNPA clone, you won't have much in the way of dark malts. The dark fruit esters may not be too strong, but it may be a little sweeter than a true clone.
 
This is how you make things a little different. Use a malt that is not usually in the style, add a spice or fruit that is unusual. Use a yeast that is not to style.

It will be beer and It could be the next great recipe that everyone wants to make.
