So today I was checking on the hard cider I'm brewing for my wife from an extract kit and I noticed that the bubbling had slowed down considerable so I opened the lid to do a SG check. I was in and out in under a minute and resealed my fermentation bucket. It wasn't quite there as I was looking for a 1.004 on the gravity and I'm sitting on a 1.010. Anyway, since I resealed the bucket, I'm not seeing any activity on my bubbler. What's going on here? Thanks

probably done. the diff between 10 and 04 ain't that much in the world of cider. let it go for a couple weeks and call it good.

You released all the excess co2. It may build and bubble the airlock again, or not. Now you are just waiting for the final drop in gravity.

I was thinking of racking to the secondary.. Is it close enough to consider primary fermentation done?

Fermentation won't be done until two SG readings, a few days apart, are the same. Close to being done is called a stalled fermentation. Don't try to rush it.

CO2 may still be building pressure in the bucket. Bubbles through the air lock may begin again in a couple of days. Lid may also have not sealed well this time and CO2 is escaping around the rim.
