Hi,
I brewed my first batch of beer in over ten years over the weekend. Everything went well. I made a starter the night before and pitched it after cooling the wort. I put the batch in our basement. The batch bubbled nicely for two days and has stopped. I fear that the basement is too cold. Yesterday I brought the batch back upstairs to the main floor. Am I over reacting???

RDWAHAHB :)

It's gonna be fine. Two days is about right for the vigorous portion of fermentation.

Probably so. What is the temp. down there? Do you have a hydrometer to check the gravity?

Look at temp recommendations for your yeast

Look at temp downstairs

Compare the two

If there is a differential, well you can't change the yeast's preference, so you have to change the environment.

If there is no differential, RDWAHAHB
