Fermentation freezer STC1000 - please check my plans?

So that link is the picture of the inside of the compressor chamber.

It looks to me like the neutral (white) goes straight to the compressor, and the back goes to the thermostat, then to the compressor.

So basically those 2 black wires currently through the thermostat will go on my "cool" terminals. I'll splice into the incoming black and white wires for power. I'm not heating at this point.

The only part I'm not 100% clear on is what the black "plug" is on the upper right of this picture. The wires lead from the compressor to the plug... I'm assuming I leave that alone, but wanted to double check and figure out what that plug is used for...

Judging by the size of the wires, that "plug" might actually be a start capacitor.
You want to leave that alone...
