pretty cost effective way to have a controlled way to ferment. How do you keep it cold in there? Is it sort of a swamp cooler type thing? If so, how often do you have to change out water/frozen water bottles and how hot is your garage?

Can you keep that indoors instead? I'd think it would struggle to stay cool in the garage.

What do you think of it? As I'd need two or three I think it may just be better to build a fermentation chamber, which would make SWMBO happy as she'd get a large portion of that freezer back, and keep me from needing to concern myself with it every 8-12 hours allowing me to go camping or some such.

I have been using the Cool Brew bag for around 4 months in a closet indoors. Ambient is around 70* to 80* but it can hold a 6G carboy at 68* with one 2 liter bottle of ice and at 64* with a gallon bottle with very little temp swings (2* I have a thermometer with high/low history).

Overall worth it of you dont have the space for a proper freezer etc. and less messy than a swamp cooler.

Yes a chamber would be better if you needed room for 3+ fermentors. I do keep in inside now - not in the garage - and its easy to switch out the frozen 2-litter bottles.
