i have an IPA fermenting at the moment. and i have 2oz of fuggles in my fridge. i know a lot of people have mixed feelings about fuggles. anyone ever try dry hopping with them?

Fuggles are kind of earthy... I wouldnt dry hop with them... Personally if I want to dryhop an american style IPA i tend to go with a hop that will bring a citrus'y or pine note to the beer in the aroma... Fuggles will accentuate a very unappealing smell and taste in the beer that you probably are not going for.l.. Especially if you already have Amarillo in the beer... I think I've seen people dryhop with citra and crystal...

Save your fuggles for a british beer.

I just bottled a Copppers Australian Bitter ( it was on sale ), I steeped some sassafrass to add some character and dry hopped with 1oz fuggles. I just bottled lastnight and tasted it...I loved it...very bitter. I could just taste the sassafrass. I love the added aroma of the fuggles. But as Bowtiebrewery pointed out they are earthy...in my case it's exactly what i was looking for. Not sure about them in an IPA but i've never tried it. Loved them in my Bitter though, maybe if i make this again i would dry hop with 2oz, but it was a first for me so i held back...Good Luck!
