I typically bitter at 60 with warrior, but everyone seems to rave about FWHing. What are some favorable candidates for American style pales? I know some people avoid citra and simcoe too early in the boil, any varieties to avoid?

I also use Warrior for bittering a lot. subscribing to this thread to see what kinds of hops folks like to use for FWH.

There is no reason you can't use the warrior for the FWH. FWH IME will yield a smoother bitterness than a traditional 60 minute boil addition. Some will say they still retain some aroma/flavor as well but that is really not something I have experienced.

I typically stick with my traditional bittering hops used for those additions and I honestly like Warrior because it provides a nice neutral bitterness. Magnum would be another that can be used. I've also used EKG and NOrthern Brewer. I guess it really depends on the style you are planning. You also really can't go wrong with any of the noble hop varieties.

Northern Brewer is great as a FWH if you are hop bursting with Citra,Amarillo or Simcoe.

I'm pretty partial to Chinook and Columbus myself. I'll normaly FWH an IPA with Columbus and a large amount too.

Then I do pretty much a 10 or 5 min addition, and slam it with a bunch in a hopstand/whirlpool. Gets me around 70-80 IBU's for a standard 1.060-1.070 OG to 1.010-1.008 FG.

Columbus is probably my favorite. Summit isn't bad, but I hate risking the onion/garlic note with it.

Only did it once, but I'll toss in Tettnanger as an option. Very smooth bitterness. Palmer, FWIW, advocates only low AA hops, but that's probably up for debate like everything in this hobby :D
