I'm cooking up an APA and have the iPod on shuffle. It's been a very nice eclectic and tastey mix so far - But it just played the Black Crowes "let me share the ride" from their Freak n' Roll live album. Marc Ford, Eddie Harcsh and that Horn Section freaking Rock! So do the other guys but there was something magical to that line up. Switching to Freak n Roll immediately!

What do you folks like to listen to?

It's funny, but I recently started listening to channels 38 and 39 on Sirius, which is their classic hard rock and 80s hair band stations. In listening to some of the music I loved when I was in my late teens and early twenties, I'm surprised by which ones I still like, and which ones I don't. I've rekindled a love for Maiden and Tesla, but can't stand Queensryche anymore.

Anyway, I rarely listen to music while brewing, only because I don't want to miss a temp or timer alarm.

Agreed....I always seem to gravitate towards Jerry and the boys whenever I brew.

I put Pandora on my Korpiklaani station. This gives me a good mix of Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphy's, The Blaggard's, Alestorm, and various good drinking music! :fro:

Dewey Gill's show on Milwaukee's 91.7, WMSE (Enginnering school's college radio station.) Every other Friday.

He plays the most obscure, yet amazing, music from the 60s, plus the guy is a walking encyclopedia of music information and shares every nuance of the bands, songs, etc. It's a great listen. My favorite recent show was when I was brewing a Hoegaarden clone. He got a hold of, I guess Woolworth's used to hand out cards to the kids and have them fill out the names of their favorite songs. Then they'd publish a list and the kids got to see what the most popular song were and, of course, then Woolworth's knew what records to buy.

Anyway, Dewey got a hold of one of the lists from 1962 or something and played all 40 songs from start to finish, because, of course, he had them all in his personal collection. Then he threw in old commercials, too: "Roundy's supermarkets is proud to offer top sirloin steaks for 72 cents a pound!" "Call XYZ Builders to build your new home! Prices start at $10,000. Financing availble."

I hadn't thought about those cards in years. We had one of the old Victorian era stores in downtown Elyria. Pop was 10c + 2c deposit. Whole lil bag of penny candy with a Nehi for 35c. Speaking of old time sodas.I just spotted Frosty root beer at Giant Eagle at the mall last Friday in 4 packs.
