In 2 weeks a couple of people are coming by my place to learn the basics about brewing and watch football alllll day. So I'm going to get everything for an all extract recipe to keep it simple (That's pretty much all I know how to do anyway). I'm making a porter this weekend so I was thinking of doing something a little lighter, what are your guys favorite all extract recipes?

Blood Orange Hefeweizen from Sam Calagione's Book Extreme Brewing. I substituted clementines (which are in season right now) for the blood oranges and I don't think I've ever had a better hefe!

I'm really happy with the recipe I just posted for my Cream Ale but the one that recieved the most positive feedback and is super easy to make is the brewers best pale ale that was the first brew I made.

Real simple recipe and very nice beer. If you want the recipe let me know and I'll pm you.

I don't know it by heart but it's basically 6.6 lbs of LME, 1 lb of Crystal 60L, 1.5 oz hops (can't rememeber exactly but I think it was Cascade) and Nottingham yeast

Personally Ive liked everything from in 'Extreme Brewing',I like the wildflower wheat for a ligher beer, but thats more of a summer beer though

Pretty simple recipe to follow

All extract? Do a brown ale. Two tins of Muntons Dark LME, an ounce of Fuggles to bitter and an ounce at flameout. Ferment with S-04.

It'll finish dry - most beers made with Muntons extracts do - but it'll be a nice quaffer to share with your assistants when it's ready.

Cheers! :mug:

My own Minute Wheat, made with 3lbs Extra Light Dry Malt Extract, 1lb Wheat Dry Malt Extract, 1lb Rice Syrup Solids powder, ~20IBUs of any bittering hop (I used 0.5oz of Magnum @ 12.1%AA) for 60 minutes. OG: 1.045

If you want to add some color, I've used 4oz of Crystal 40, steeped for 15 minutes at 145. Or you can use a darker extract (try Briess Amber DME or Dark DME).

Pitch Nottingham or US-05 dry yeast, and you'll end up with a crisp and refreshing American Wheat Ale, ready to bottle in just about 10 days. FG: 1.011

Doesn't get much simpler than that!
