In my country, American hops are almost three times more expensive than German and Slovenian ones. I'm afraid it will be even worse because of these tariff wars.
The "tarriff wars" didn't start until 2025 so any 2024 harvest or earlier shouldn't see a price hike as many of those hops are already in Europe.
But what an opportunity to explore European hops. Harlequin is as fruity as any US hop. Triskel is a very interesting hop, too.
Then there's Australia and New Zealand. Have you tried Galaxy yet?
No reason for us to worry about tariff wars as far as I can see. That's a problem for US brewers, if it turns out to be a problem at all.
As for vacuum-packed hops, they stay good for years.

I already use mostly European hops, but also American ones. New Zealand hops are already expensive. More expensive than American ones. Probably because of the transportation.

What you don’t understand is that THIS is what the so called “tariff wars” are about. Its YOUR country putting the tarriff on US hops. Its nothing the US is doing. The US imports everything from everybody all over the world and we tarriff hardly anybody. Walmart alone imports and sells billions of dollars worth of goods from China every year. Meanwhile China and every other country in the world tarriffs our goods so we can’t compete and sell our goods there. The real goal is to have everybody stop with the tarriffs and protectionism and have real free trade. Which right now we don’t have.

It doesn't matter who is to blame. What matters is that we all pay for it.

The big ones always trample on the small ones and there is no free trade there. That's why all the industry in Europe and America has collapsed because it is cheaper to buy from someone else than to organize yourself and produce and buy your own.

Yes its cheaper to make things in third world dirt countries that exist in a different economy where they have child labor and people who work for pennies a day. Of course big developed nations can’t compete with that. So if as a result of tariffs we get some manufacturing returning to America then thats not a bad thing for us either.

I'm not sure that there are any tarriffs. Nor are the prices unreasonable by comparison with local hops.
These are the prices at Brouwland (Belgium) for 100g (about 3½ oz) in euros.
Citra U.S. 6.83

Amarillo U.S.6.29

Cascade U.S. 4.95

Goldings U.K. 4.91

Mittelfrueh De. 4.93

Don't know how much you're paying in croatia, but I'm sure Brouwland deliver there, too.
You'd expect U.S. hops to be more expensive as they've got to be transported under refrigeration (I think).

Don't know much about U.S homebrew suppliers, but, Northern Brewer keeps cropping up so I googled there and the prices seem about the same or even more, but they seem to price hops per ounce.

In a similar vein, for WCIPA:
Amarillo
Centennial
Citra

For a hazy, I think my favourite at the moment is:
Citra
Luminosa
Strata
Weird. Why can’t I find Luminosa anywhere in the US?!

Citra/Strata is nice, but I recently tried Strata/Krush, and it is a lovely combination.

This will probably get deleted but...

This isn't really true, and who knows what we'll be doing three months from now?

If first world countries try to manufacture "at home" paying first world labor and land use costs, there's a good chance that the resulting products will still cost more than tarriffed imports.
