How is there not a Fargo thread?

Last Season was AMAZING, this Season is on par, though I've found the very random Alien connection a bit odd.

Monday night was a killer episode.

Loved S1, been meaning to check this one out. Will probably wait til it's over and binge it. Glad to hear S2 is good.

The last episode was awesome, really pushed the show up some more. I went from not caring at all about Ed and Peggy to suddenly rooting for them. Kirsten went full crazy and it was glorious.

They do a really great job at capturing the essence of the original movie, but taken in a new direction. S1 is kinda similar to the original movie in terms of plot, but S2 is branching out more and its really good.

Yea seriously don't know where that's going but I bet they bring it around towards the end. Don't think we've seen any flying saucers in the last few episodes though...

I honestly can't tell if you people are just fvcking with me, or doling out massive spoilers.

Huge Fargo fan, both the movie and the TV show. S1 was fan-f'ing-tastic. Really great. On par with Breaking Bad to me. I liked how they tied it into the movie in a very tangential way. S2 is also great. It didn't dawn on me until this week that the Patrick Wilson character is the younger version of the David Carridine character from S1. I'm still wondering if there is going to be more related to that movie set thing at the very beginning of the show. Maybe it already happened and I missed it.

It's not super spoilery...there have been a few scenes early on mostly where a UFO shows up for like 2 seconds and then the scene keeps moving like nothing happened. We're on episode 8 right now and there's still no reference/meaning to it.

I want to watch it. It's on pretty late though. I'll probably check it out on Netflix.

"Fargo" and "True Detective" are the 2 best TV shows I've ever seen. Granted, I'm a little sheltered up here in the mountains. I was a huge fan of "The Wire" and "Treme" as well.

Movie great

S1 maybe even greater

S2 greater for sure.

Peg and Ed, Mike Milligan, the Kitchen bros, the typewriter guy, Dodd, Bear....the list goes on; all tremendous charatcters to name but a few.

A rare show where you root for different goodies/ baddies at various stages. Add in some weirdness like aliens?? (is it), and it's for sure a bizarre recipe for an unmissable show.

I was skeptical too about S1 before being instantly hooked. Similarly skeptical about S2 but it is the best yet. Brilliant fvcking TV.

Goddamnit. Now I'm hooked. **** you all very much. :D

Which season?

True Detective S1 was probably one of, if not the, greatest TV show seasons. S2 I thought was god awful, like me throwing TV dinners at the screen while my kids screamed "daddy, no, daddy, we just got the new picture box from the layaway".

So I was very worried S2 Fargo was going to meet the same fate of the writer being a one trick pony, however it's been amazing.

Finished Season 1 of Fargo this morning. So much for my productive weekend. Was a lot better than I expected. Can't wait to start on season 2.

Loved season 1 of True Detective, but didn't even bother with season 2 after all the bad reviews. It's a shame they jumped the shark so soon.

Loved the movie and love the show. S1 was great. Billy Bob is too good. S2 took me a few episodes to get into but now I'm digging it.

There was no way S2 of True Detective could live up to S1 and I wasn't expecting it to, but man alive there was a pretty big drop in quality for S2. I'm happy that Fargo has not suffered that same fate. I still say S1 is better but S2 isn't far behind. So many great unique characters. And the Butcher actor looks like he put on 50 lbs for this tole.

So here's an interesting question for people of da area ya know: who on Fargo has got the accent down pat? and who is painful to listen too?

Plenty of actors are painful attempting our local dialect ;)

You mean "Massholian" ;)

GO HABS!

I haven't watched it; I'm not sure how you could make Fargo without Frances McDormand as Marge Gunderson. And I think she's too old now to cast in that part.

If y'all like it, maybe I'll see if I can find it on Amazon Prime or Wife's Netflix.

It is on Prime and Hulu; I believe it is not on NF.

The series is not a re-hash of the movie Fargo. Each season is different story set in the Dakotas/Minnesota

Love the Milligan character, it's played well. The butcher was in Breaking Bad too I believe?

Yeah, Jesse Plemmons. He gained a lot of weight since then.

I will say I was kind of impressed by Jeffrey Donovan and his accent/acting. I used to watch Burn Notice and he was decent in it but nothing special...but he's been great on Fargo.

S1 was outstanding with great characters

S2 is just as good with even better characters

I like Jeffrey Donavan, never thought he was a great actor, but he has been just killing his role

Haven't lived in the TCs for almost 30 years, the accents sound like I remember

I am shocked by your statement. Shocked!

I find most series lack a plot. Fargo first of all has great cinematography, music, and characters. I've been trying to find something new. I finally caught all the way up with this season and the plot has picked up. Still waiting for the UFO's. If this ends like Lost I'll be p*ssed ;)

Pardon my french but how do you say Canadians su cer?

The Habs part, right? Most Massholes I know are proud of being Massholes!
