I am in the process of converting a keg into a mash tun. What is everyone using at the bottom. Are you using a false bottom or something else, maybe cheaper?

if i were to buy a false bottom where is the best place to go

Jaybirds False Bottoms are probably the most popular. They are well made with 14ga SS.

I'm converting my new keg to have a bottom drain and a false bottom. My keg will be inverted so I can use the original sanke opening with a 2" tri-clover fitting as the outlet.

Whenever I do things I like to jump in head first. Why buy something now that you might end up replacing in the future, that's why God invented credit cards! I say buy a nice boil pot and use the keg as a HTL. Good false bottoms are pricey, a musician is only as good as his instrument...
