By means of my forgetfulness; I shall be conducting new experimental whirlpool schedule.

Like 2hrs of a whirlpool. I forgot I had to pick the missus at the airport and have just enough time to get the boil done before I leave..

Should be interesting.

I biab now a days so my beer is always trubby, finally got back 3.5 hrs after knock out.

looks good. pump was purring along at 1.6 gal/min and was 131 degrees after bringing it down to 180.

we'll see in three weeks.

Just kegged it up today. sample tasted as good as it always does and had a little more perceivable bite but not flavor.

In all honesty; I thought I was gonna have to let this one sit for a while because it would be astringent. Not the case at all.

I whirlpooled for a bit over 3 hrs once because I took a repose (passed out on my bed) while waiting for the whirlpool to be done. No off flavors or anything but didnt seem any more potent than my usual 1 hr whirlpool

I wonder how many excellent beers are excellent only because the first time they were made the brewer blacked out... I mean took a nap.

It would be cool to try a very long low temp whirlpool with a whole bunch of dry whole leaf hops, basically just warm enough to wash off the hop oils then ferment.
