JacktardBrewmeister
The Mad Zymurgist
Going to brew an experimental IPA. I was wondering what a good beer base recipe would be as I do not brew IPA's regularly. I am.... making a garbage DIPA to be straight with you all. I have a bunch of left over hops that I want to mess with and I do not personally like IPA in general (I'm a stout and dark beer man through and through). However, to become a master brewer... in my eyes, one must brew everything!!! So for my first experimental DIPA I made a goal to get my IBUs to 69 (giggedy). I will be using the following hops for no reason whatsoever other then that I can.
Hops and times:
1oz HBC 342 Experimental Pellet Hops (60 min)
0.5oz Belma Hops (60 min)
1.5oz Saaz Hops (30 minutes)
0.5oz German Select, Tettnanger, and Spalt (30 minutes)
I have not decided on the malts yet. But Maris Otter is my go to malt for a base. But if anyone wants to offer up some IPA malt blends I'd be willing to do the math on em. b^^
