Was excited to try my first 100% Brett IPA. Can't even get past this weird flavor... (it is good but as soon as I pick out the nice qualities this off? flavor barges in and ruins it)
Has anyone else had this or maybe could explain what I'm getting here?
It is just fine sip through swallow but as soon as I swallow, I exhale through my nose and get a VERY medicinal taste on the back of my tongue, back of my mouth and upper rear palate. Hard to describe, except for medicine. It has this almost numbing thing going on like when you are sick and spray chloraseptic in your mouth....actually yeah, exactly like that. Way past phenolic or band aid....
Is this normal for 100% Brett? Is it a flaw or is it a natural thing? If so, is what i'm getting within range of expected or is this just a bad beer?
