Flyers really dropped ball... Gave up 3 straight after being up 2-0. In fact, I'm pretty sure their record in these playoffs is much better when they GIVE UP the first goal...

Trend continues with the Flyers and their opponents...team scoring first has lost every game except 1.

I've never seem HEAD CONTACT as a penalty, but I'll take it. Coulda been interference I guess.

It's lame. Giroux will probably get suspended next game despite not just clearly being a hit that was intended to be clean, but also one that was entirely a result of Zubrus' head being down.

That hit may single-handedly lose the Flyers the series. Giroux is the heart and soul of the Flyers - as important to the team as Brown and Callahan are to the Kings and Rangers, respectively. Losing him would be a devastating blow.

Exactly.

And yet Chara doesn't get suspended and almost every hit he lays has head contact because he's 3' taller than everyone else.

Giroux, lol. Think he's frustrated.I'm seeing a little "crosby" in em...........

Really? You're more like Crosby in your whining, and less like him with your lack of skill. I hope the Caps win the next two and hopefully you'll go away with the rest of the Rags fans.

Flyers are just getting outplayed. I have no idea why they're not playing the physical game. Where has the hitting been that made the Penguins crumble?

I think the Devils are moving their passes and legs a bit quicker than the Pens. Devils are deeper then they thought also, just can't cover Kovy and Parise.

I honestly am starting to think the Pens series is the reason. I don't see speed from NJ like the Pens, nor are the Devils scoring 4-6 goals/games or making Bryz look silly. They're not hitting like Pittsburgh did. I don't think it's an jnability to cover Parise or Kovy as they handled Malkin and Crosby who are both more skilled than the Devils stars. The Flyers are getting outplayed and I'll give credit to the Devils and their staff for figuring out the Flyers power play and not allowing them to get the cycle, forechecking, and physical game going and sustained. They're doing a phenomenal job, but the Flyers clearly aren't the same team they were in the first round and with this many rookies, who happened to play really well against the Pens, they look tired.

Yep. 43 SOG from the Devils, 22 for the Flyers. Would anyone predict that? Penguins failed (miserably) defensively. Pens were 3rd in the regular season on the PK (interestingly, NJD was 1st), but were only 47.8% (unbelievably bad) against Phily, with a quite a few of the goals in the last 30 seconds of the PK. I think that, more than anything, was the series.

Like I said, used up. Not hard to believe given how crazy the first series was.

That's f*kt up. We aren't all whiners. I think it's wild that the eastern conference is pretty tight series counts. Western is mostly blow outs.

I started out as a Rangers Fan (given the Pens loss), but every time Northjerzyg posts with an inability to capitalize correctly or say anything coherent, I find myself leaning towards the Capitals.

He reminds me of some of my students (College level) who in a Business Communications class don't think it's important to send an email with the correct spelling, have actual sentences, or even have a subject line. :)

That's it. Nothing personal. Just hoping this goes away soon. Reminds me of middle/high school age kids on car forums.

I love the texting approach people take to professional communication...particularly a lack of any punctuation.

They have Nashville syndrome, content to beat their rival, and not much else.
Whether it's mind set or just playing out of your mind for a series, then coasting through the next one.

I disagree. This franchise has been there before and as demonstrated by last summer, is not content with a series win here and there. I'm sure the majority of the fan base is not content with the results and Lavy has commented about his team's unacceptable performance.

I honestly think they look worn out. Bryz has played much better, but the team isn't getting it done in front of him. He's the only reason the scores don't look like they did in Game 4 against Pittsburgh.

I think JT is more correct in this instance. Come on now... these guys are professional hockey players in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. If you truly believe that the Flyers, Blues, Nucks, Pens, etc.were content to just make the playoffs, you're crazy. They are all playing against the best teams in the league. Weaknesses will be exploited. Bodies will be beaten. This is a war. Not a battle. 16 wins. No less.

This. Whether it's late game heroics or total domination, it takes a complete team to win out in the playoffs. A team that looks worn out usually is, either from a tough physical series or mental fatigue.

Flyers are younger than the Devils and had like a week off. If anything I guess it would be mental. I'm not writing them off till it's over, Marty isnt in his prime anymore.

Me either, but a lot of the play just hasn't been close. Bryz has made it look respectable.

A number of guys are playing through injuries and not having Pronger and Mez is showing.

I just want to see the Flyers start hitting people like they did to the Pens creating turnovers and chaos.

annnddd, Giroux is suspended for Game 5.

Way to go, Claude.

Guess it's not too surprising giving all the other suspensions. Let's see if the Devils have that killer instinct they've been toying with or if Philly rallies around adversity.

Where's northjerz and his hard on for the offiials hooking up the Flyers?

But I thought i was just whining and the Ovi hit was clean.

Oh, and Giroux def deserves what he gets. That was textbook headhunting.

And as far as my "posting style", this thread is under drunken rants and mindless mumblings. Not Hockey 101, a college level discussion...........

So, Suck It!!
