McSorelip got a bad rap. He certainly smacked Brasheer in the helmet, but the injury came when Brasheer fell. Not from the rap on his helmet. That said, it was certainly an ill-advised move by McS.

As for a difference in between play now and play "back in the day?" The players are bigger, stronger and faster thus the hits are harder. Goonism and stickwork have always been with us. The best way to temper it is to eliminate the instigator penalty.

As a fan of McSorley before his bruin days and seeing him in a king uniform his actions caused the fall, hence the injury.

Didn't mean to imply that his actions did not cause the fall. Just stating that the concussion occurred when Brashear's head hit thee ice, not when McS's stick hit his helmet.

I've been watching since the Pens beat the Hawks and I've been playing longer than that so I guess I've never watched a game before last night.

I think it was just as much the idea that you thought the other games were better. Anybody who thinks an 8-1 whooping is a good game obviously doesn't really appreciate the sport. Was game 5 the best game ever? No, but it was definitely one of the better games in the series so far...

When of the best games I've ever seen/been to was 1-0, Ducks over Stars, double OT in the conference finals. Giguere vs Turco Both teams has plenty of chances. The intensity was insane.
