is this deep enough to install a PID? I thought the PID was 100 mm deep (almost 4 inches).

I will have to measure, I wasn't installing a PID but putting in a PWM circuit

At only 9 3/4" x 8" I wouldn't think that would offer you much room for wiring. (Breakers, SSR's, terminal strips, etc.)
