I've been doing a lot of research on electric brewing. Does anyone know of a heating element I can simple place my keggle on? I don't really want to drill holes and have the element inside my HLT or boil keggle.

I've been wondering the same thing. I've got 220V power available, but I'm also not too keen on drilling and adding a heating element to my kettle.

I would recommend searching heatsticks. They're on my VERY LONG to do list. I have heard good things and it's a pretty cheap DIY as well.

I have an electric charcoal starter, I'm guessing its similar to that only safe for water. I go through a lot of propane, even if I only had something for the water in the HLT, that would help.
