Electric Basement Brewing Vent Made from Grow Light Hood

I am sorry if I am posting a repeat question. I did search and did not find anything..

I was thinking about picking up a grow light hood and using it for a vent over the brew pot. I have a nice 340cfm 6" inline fan and I like the grow light hood cause it have a nice 6" duct hole on the end. Figured I could remove the glass cover and electronics and hook up my fan.

I know its not stainless but if they are designed to work in a grow room and that moisture then it should be ok over the pot.

I'm sure it would work however generally that style of grow lamp is fairly expensive. Why not do the large stainless bowl as a vent?

I like the size at 29 x 36 it will cover both the Brew pot and Sparge water heater

Funny I was searching for a cheap hood an came across these wondering if anyone else had used them.

I did 2 batches today and the hood worked well. Once I build my brew stand I may lower it some, I have 8-1/2' ceilings in the basement.

I picked up a Vortex S-600, works good and is not very loud.
I did get the speed control with it.
