On today's batch, Brewsmith refuses to provide an accurate efficiency.

18.25 pounds of grain. 23 qts for the mash, 8 qts each for two batch sparges. 7.25 gallons to the boil, and 5.75 to the fermenter.

Brewsmith estimates to SG at 1.084 (75%). When I fill in my ACTUAL SG ( a meager 1.063) it gives me an efficiency of 97.44%!!! If I fill in the expected 1.084, it says the efficiency would have been 129%!!!!

I've re-entered all of the data three times, and it keeps coming up with these crazy numbers. (I entered the same stuff into ProMash and it reports an efficiency of about 63%) My other two Beersmith efficiencies have calculated accurately.

Has anyone ever run into a similar issue with Beersmith?

I've experienced all sorts of "oddities" with BS.. Try closing and restarting and see if the numbers make sense.
I have had 3 recipes that the hop AA's were out of whack on and there was no fixing them. I saved, closed, re-opened and it was correct. I don't know if it's a memory leak or what, but having it open for too long causes issues within the program.

Nope. I've restarted the app multiple times, and re-entered the recipe from scratch at least 4 times over 2 days. There must be something about the particular numbers that sets off some sort of calculation error. (It also kept insisting that my sparge water needed to be 244 degrees to hit 170 on a batch sparge.) Stuff like this makes me not want to trust the app at all.

That's right, I refuse to give out accurate efficiency information. :D

LOL. I didn't even notice that I'd typed Brewsmith instead of Beersmith.

Still, I curse you for your stubbon refusal to cooperate.
