Looks like stakem has some more ticks to buy. Last year at the release party the Vanilla-Coffee blend was by far the best, glad they bottled it.

Is this all mailing list only, or is there another way in? All of the Futures-only bottles sound really interesting.

Having never tried Eclipse, is there a clear favorite among the different bourbon barrels, or are they all pretty similar?

They put it up on FB too.

And I'm definitely interested in the Futures-only ones, but I thought they said that this year they were going to do fewer variants. I wish they'd either drop the number of variants or drop the price. At least they're pretty reasonably-priced as futures.

Do they allow for proxies to pick up futures allocations? I couldn't find any mention of it..
Yes, I've had someone pick up my bottles for the last 3 years. I just send my proxy my certificate and then e-mail the folks at FiftyFifty (typically Alicia) that someone is picking my bottles up for me.

Yeah, that's pretty surprising that they're lowering futures prices as the years go by. The bottle prices have the exact opposite trend. I'm still not buying any, but it's a nice move.

Appreciate the responses, haven't a burning desire to buy futures in the past, but the coffee-vanilla and rum sound too good.

The ones that have been delivered to me as a trustee have come via FedEx. No signature required either, which the delivery guy thought was weird since he thought it was wine
Have you had more than one person shipped to you? I mean has more than one person bought them and shipped to you? I have 2 friends that want to have theirs shipped to me and I forward them. I also want to order my own of the non distro.

Yep, I had there different people have futures sent to me, there were no problems. Though I highly recommend opening and looking Aust the bottles before forwarding. A bunch of the cases were packed wrong (not wrong beers, missing the top packing material and not packed in correct direction). This lead to bottles touching, though miraculously none broke. To ship it out I put in extra layers of bubble wrap

I did the same repacking for MOAS when a friend had them shipped to me.
Thanks!

How can someone not in FiftyFifty's society get access to either 1) be in it, 2) get the beers, besides trading for them?

Also will those bottles be available at the release?

You just purchase them online. Pay half up front. Half when they release.
Oh cool!

When/how/where do you purchase these online? I really enjoyed the Eclipses Ive had so far. Would love to be able to snag more this coming year.

Check their Facebook. Details are there. Futures will become available on April 15.

Thanks guys.

So I can proxy for out of state people? Do they limit how many people I can do that for?

Any idea what barrels the Coffee/Vanilla will be in? Sounds awesome, but could come off a bit $$$ if the barrel is weak sauce. Not sure if it's worth the extra $20 per bottle if it's marginally within Victory at Sea category.

But dat Rum, damn tempting this year after skipping the last few years.

I think it's typically one of the more common bourbons.

Java has been EC12 every year so I would bet my money that's what it'll be

You don't buy any of the exclusives at the party? Missing out, EC20 & PVW were good **** the last 2 years.

Nah, I just get my fill on them at the parties. I just like getting a fat box of futures. I just don't feel like dropping $30-$40 for an eclipse myself.

Seriously, not being a ******** here...are the listed prices the actual cost of the beer or is that the futures down payment?

There's two numbers, one is the downpayment, the other is the full cost. The first number is exactly half of the second, because you pay half up front and half upon receipt of the bottles.

This makes sense now that I looked on the fifty fifty website. I was referring to the prices quoted by the OP.

The eclipses that land here in PA sit on shelves at $35-45 a pop. For a moment, I honestly thought 20 bucks was the down payment.

My list is actual futures costs. Half of that is what you have to pay to lock in that lower price. Once it goes retail the price goes up randomly to a higher price.
