If anyone in the DC area hasn't been to Port City in Alexandria, or DC Brau, in DC, I highly recommend visiting these breweries. Good beer and good people!

Defiant Brewery - (Saddle river, NJ i think, on the way)

Unless they opened another location, Defiant Brewery is in Pearl River, NY right next to the train station. They also smoke ribs and some other goodies on the weekend that are first come first serve - that may have changed though.

Was just up at Alchemist picking up some Heady Topper and was talking to them about all the people interested in this beer. I said there was a group that came up from LA. She says, the Tin Cup guys? Yeah, they had two vehicles, one for people one for beer! Seems you gents at least made an impression.

This thread is amazing...illustrates just how far craft beer has come in a very short time. Just a decade ago or more the list offered the OP would have been almost infinitely shorter!

Time to pitch the locals: next time you head up this way, take a stop in Charlotte...two great new breweries, Noda and Birdsong!
