I have recently started malting my own grains. I am just looking for some feed back, when drying I use 42x36 racks with mesh on the bottom. Spread the grains on them. I am doing 50 pounds at a time. I use 3 racks so roughly 15 lbs on each. I put the racks in my furnace room that is roughly 85 to 90 on any given day. I also have an industrial dehumidifier in the room. It still took 2 days to dry the grains. Is this normal?

Mostly what I have read, I haven't done it myself, is to dry it at 100-125 for a day then raise the temp slowly to 140-160 till you have the same weight you started with. This will give you a moisture level of 2-6 percent. So a couple of days at 90 seems right.
