Not gonna try it myself but being the time of year it is my mom always made a punch for the Halloween party that she put dry ice in and it cooled it as well as carbed it. Of course it was more about the fog rolling of the caldrin effect but just a wacky thought that the memory stirred.
So has any body tried this?

You'd have to weigh the stuff pretty precisely and cap quickly. It would be a logistical nightmare. Probably would be awesome for kegging, though.

It works to force-carb rootbeer in a 5g milk can, but you MUST use a pressure release valve or you run the very real & serious risk of the container exploding with enough force to seriously injure yourself.

Defiantly do the math and be very careful. My only childhood run-in with the police was when I was blowing up PET soda bottles with dry ice. They'll blow and throw fragments, I don't want to think about what a glass bottle would do.

As I said in the initial post I'm not gonna do it but I thought it an interesting theory. Chilling and carbing in one step.

I have done the dry ice bomb thing. The heaters that come with the MRE meals are just as reactive in a 16oz soda bottle. They take a little more time to build the pressure, but they will take out the windows in the barracks on most Army installations.
