I am doing an IPA at this moment, this coming Sunday will be 7 days of fermentation.
I want to dry hop for the second 7 days of fermentation.
It is in a sealed fermentation bucket with airlock, I am wondering if it's okay to carefully pop the lid, drop in the hops and reseal for the second 7 days.

How will this affect the fermentation?
Will I introduce oxygen enough to oxidize the beer?

Yep, standard practice to pop the lid and drop the hops in. It's ok to pop the lid because you kinda have to do that in order to get the hops in there :D

Doesn't affect fermentation, though you may get a little bit of bubbles from co2 off-gassing. I never heard of anyone getting oxidation problems from dry hopping, or at least it's really uncommon.

Yeasts don't have a calendar so they don't know they are supposed to be done in 7 days. Dry hop when fermentation has stopped, not by your calendar. It won't hurt to let the beer set longer before adding the dry hops either. I sometimes give my beer 3 weeks in the fermenter before dry hopping for a week.

Good point, thank you...
