Ok, I put 1 oz. of cascade plugs in the secondary when I racked my IPA, the hops are still floating on top, it has been 5 days now, will they fall to the bottom or stay on top, I didn't use a hop bag, they are loose, Im just wondering how Im gonna rack to bottling bucket if they dont fall out as trub, any tips or suggestions? thanks

I only dry hopped once...and it took about 14 days for the pellets to drop.
On the 13th day I very gently swished the carboy and that helped to sink almost everything.

Cheers.

They won't drop out. You'll have to put some kind of a filter on the racking cane's inlet. Sanitize a nylon knee-hi and attach with a rubber band.

I dry hopped in the keg for the first time. An ounce of Centennial in a large stainless herb ball. It will be interesting.

I just dry hopped without a bag for the first time with whole hops. I was worried because they floated on top, but every once in a while, I gave the carboy a little nudge to make sure all the hops were saturated, the 777 came out awesome!:ban:

What about a hop bag?
