Hi I joined recently this forum .and reading through I saw that a lot of people dry hop their beer, so I decided to give it a shot .but I am not sure what and how many hoops to use.and for how long .a this moment I am brewing simple beer IPA kit from midwest supplies the kit comes with 1oz columbus , 1oz cascade and 1oz centennial hops.
It is a5 gl recipe .i am Open to any suggestions .thank you

In my opinion, you'll need to buy more hops to make an IPA that is really focused on the hops. It's hard to give exact numbers for additions without knowing the OG (estimated) of the wort. Also, most people will suggest using ~.5 oz of hops per gallon to dry hop. I usually do more. Hope this helps.

I'll go against the people who load up with hops for an IPA. I like hop aroma but I think some put in more hops than needed and just throw money away. Maybe I'm wrong but I'd just brew this batch as is and try it or if experimentation was wanted, split the batch into 2 fermenters and leave one with the amount of hops (divided in half) for one and the other add dry hops to see the difference. You don't have to use a smaller fermenter, I do a lot of half size batches in a 6.5 gallon fermenter.

It would be interesting to see where lies the point of diminishing returns in terms of hop aroma. Perhaps 3 oz dry hop is only slightly better than 6 oz? Or some other breaking point.

It reminds me of that Sprint Wireless commercial from Christmas time, where the Christmas tree dealer is charging 2X the price for a tree with 1% more needles.

Brulosophy looked at something like this, just comparing 3X dry hopping rate. (http://brulosophy.com/2015/09/21/dry-hop-quantity-a-little-vs-a-lot-exbeeriment-results/). But, that doesn't exactly identify the point of diminishing returns.
