Dropped O-ring in keg

So I went to take the lid off of my keg and the damn O-ring somehow stuck to the keg and then dropped into my brew. I tried fishing it out but is damn near impossible. Can I still carb it up and drink it or do I need to pour it out??

If you have a replacement....leave it in there.

I do, I just was worried it would give bad flavors or something. So it's going to be ok to just carb it up and leave it

It happens. Replace seal and proceed as usual. It'll be there when the keg pops. Please don't dump it. That's beer, man!

You could also jump the beer into another keg if you're inclined and have the equipment to do so. Personally, I would, and have, carb it up and drink it Cheers!

The beer is often in contact with the various o-rings in the keg. All your beer goes past the same rubber on the poppet valve. No worries.

I've had this happen as well. Yeah, just replace and don't worry about it.

When it happened to me, my o-ring was actually floating, so I just sanitized my racking cane and used it to hook the ring and pull it out.

My 2nd keg I dropped the entire keg lid into the hole somehow. I didnt even think that was possible with the little securing legs on the sides. Had to scrub my entire arm, dunk in starsan up to my pit, and then go fishing. Beer turned out fine, im sure your will too

I do have an empty keg I could transfer it into but have already set to carbonation lever about a day ago. Would it be bad to transfer now? Should I just leave it and dig out the o ring when it's empty?

Leave the o-ring in the beer and it will be okay. Just to prove it to yourself make an o-ring tea and see if you can taste it.
