2 gals of my cherry mead stopped fermenting too early.
1.040........I had used Lalvin D-47, and tried to jumpstart by adding some Lalvin EC-1118 and nutrient.
Going is veeery slow..........Thinking about dumping both gals into a porter brew, and go for broke.

For something like that it may be good to just get a couple cheap 1 gallon glass carboys, rack into them, add a gram of ec-1118 to them. Airlock them and put them in a closet and forget about them. Then start a new batch and try to adjust the process or recipe to keep from having the same problem. After another 6 months to a year or so dig up the melomels and see what happened.

Try adding some yeast nutrient/energizer (dissolved in boiled & cooled water) & give them a GENTLE swirl. Don't add dry powder to the mead, you might get an eruption. Also, make sure the temp is within the temp range of the yeast.
Regards, GF.
