I just uncapped my first HomeBrewed American Blondie and it was awesome. I have only had them in bottles for about a week, but I want to drink one a week to see (taste) what is going on with the brew. I noted a few things:

The classic carb sound is there, but a little faint

The head is real foamy, almost soapy looking at first.

The taste kind of reminds me a little bit of red wine

Hopefully it will be ready for the SuperBowl party

Congrats. If you look on YouTube you can find a video that is a 'time lapse' video of fermentation. Basically, its a guy opening a beer every so many days and talking about what is good and what is bad about how the beer pours, and how it looks. For example, the head is good, but the beer itself might not be bubbling. That is because the CO2 hasn't dissolved into the beer yet. Its a great video. I learned a ton of what to look for.

This brings back memories. Tonight I drank some of my 2nd brew. Only 8 bottles left.

I did the same... brought a couple over to the folks place a couple weeks ago.. meh it was beer. nothing special..

crammed two in the fridge last night while brewing a stout and swilling beers in the garage with a friend. Its amazing what a week or two will do, and it will only get better from here.

mmm beer, tasty, tasty beer..
