hahaha the BBQ looks great...the funny thing is that I actually have a blog dedicated to what I eat...check it out at http://www.alexsgrub.com/

My wrap from today was pretty good, but going way back, my food will rival anything you guys had :)

You win a slap in the face for drinking Asian beer on purpose.

That's a lie. You don't even drink beer. And we know you're wife owns the set, she just let's you carry them to work and back to show your friends.

That's some funny shiite right there.

But seriously...try some Hitachino Nest Beer from Kiuchi Brewery sometime if you think "Asian Beer" isn't worth drinking on purpose. I happily recommend the Japanese Classic Ale for starters. Yum......

You my, poor, poor, "friendly" excuse of a man limit yourself too much.

Again. You are wrong. I, may barely be considered a brewer of beer and more a collector of beer and brewery tech but it is a exhorbitant farce, like you man card, to say I do not drink beer. I'd bet my palate is far more accepting of varieties than your narrow excuse for taste.

And yes, she owns them but still lets me take them out once in a while to trim them up and change the fluids. Not often mind you, but once in a while. There is a LOT of begging. It's not pretty at all.

Fat chance of that. He'll be spending the next hour trying to phonetically pronounce it. Only to get to a bar and ask for a "Tall Nest Ale". To which, bartender Hiro will just nod in that sort of "I done speaka Ingirrish" way and pour him a thick headed Sapporro.

Which goes pretty dang good with a nice Udon.

And there is no such thing as a funny Shi'ite. They had a jihad on that years ago.

Not THAT kind of Shiite! But really, I met this Iraqi comedian in Dubai one time. HE was a frikin' funny Shi'ite! I shiite you not. :mug:

I always see that at Jungle Jims's in Cincy, but I admittedly pass it over as "japanese beer". I'll pick a bottle up next time I'm there. I admit Sapporro and Kirin Ichiban are my only experience with Japanese beers.

Oh, well, the Dubai muslims can afford to laugh. And they still have all their teeth.

yeah, the Emerati don't have trouble affording much. I prefer my muslim influence more from the southeast of that area anyway. My wife agrees....eheh. :)

Even an Orion is a big step up from Asahi Super Dry IMO. It's still a rice lager, but at least it's got some flavor to it.

I think the best beer Kiuchi makes is that Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout. The white ale is good, too.

And for a good Japanese IPA try Ozeno Yukidoke IPA.

The Hitachino Japanese Classic Ale is a bit misleading actually. It's really an IPA with some very slight, clean cedar notes. I fell in love with it my first swallow. I suppose the whole "Classic" part comes from perhaps the influence of the IPAs that passed into Asia through Singapore back in the days of the East India Trading Company and it's trade through most of the region. Well worth the try. Kiuchi is doing some good things.

Just as we Americans get labeled for poor taste in brews by the marketing of the masses so too do other places in the world. Be careful of applying blanket quality labels on anything you have no experience with. My advice is to try everything once before you knock it. Enjoy!!!!

I agree on just about all accounts actually. The Hitachino Nest JCA was just the first thing that came to mind as i jumped in to defend some of our fellow craft brewers of a more easterly persuasion. :mug:

No need to defend them. IP is offensive even to locals.
