Good find, not that I mind Celsius but I would've jumped on this over the stc -1000 if I knew about it. Looks exactly like my stc though

They're absolutely identical and it's only 16 bux with shipping. I don't mind the Celsius either but it's so much easier in Fahrenheit. That's why I posted this. I was curious if anyone else has seen or bought this controller. I just kind of thought it was to good to be true.

That is the beast you want. The wiring diagrams you see for the stc-1000 are exactly the same, and are plentiful. If you need any help, just ask as there are a lot of helpful people on this site. Oh, btw, there is no such thing as a stupid question.

Do you have one? I have an STC. I'm contemplating ordering two of these just because of the price and replacing it with my STC. It does have dual capability right?

Good find.

Once you use Celsius, you never go back. Keep the fridge at 12C and the mash at 65C.

I switched to metric entirely. It is much easier to build and tweak recipes and actually understand the proportions

Yes, it does only have one controlled output, so I was wrong. I do have the STC-1000, and I have no complaints. The Celsius reading is no big deal as mentioned above. There are tons of C to F converters on line, so there really is no hassle to use. They wire easily, and like I said before, all the help you could ever need is available here.

What beers do you mash at 149* F?

The temperature controllers that people are using for electric automation, like the brutus 10 for instance, are they dual stage or are they single? There is no reason to need to manualky switch the. Back and forth is there?

For instance, if I used this controller to operate a 120v solenoid in a direct fire mashtun, all you need is one wide correct? When the mash temp gets low, the thermowell turns on the solenoid, when it reachs temp, it goes off. Am I right here?

Isnt the only time you need dual stage is for a ferm chamber? I have the stc1000 on my keezer and I only use one side of it.

I understand your need for only one contact to heat your mash tun. So what do you use to control your keezer? For my keezer right now, all I need is heat as my keezer is in the cold garage. Two weeks ago,I needed both heating and cooling to keep my fermentation temp correct.

I can't think that you would need heating inside a keezer unless you are in Alaska or something! Or unless you are fermenting in it.

So am I right about only need a single output temperature controller for a gas solenoid for a pilot burner?

I think I have this same one. The buttons are a little different than the STC-1000 and the function codes are different. All of the programming guides I can find are for the STC-1000 set up. Anyone know where I can find a guide on programming this model.

I've been able to figure out setting the temp pretty easily, and switching from heating to cooling isn't too bad either. I haven't figured out setting up the temperature range or what the default range is.
