Many years ago, there was beer from Canada called Old Vienna. It came in 7 or 8 oz. bottles called "splits". Does anyone know if there is a source for that size bottle for HBers? It would be great to have a "short" beer once in awhile.

Stone or Rogue distributed some of their beer in single 6 or 7oz bottles a few years ago. I picked up a few but have since lost them from giving away homebrew. :(

Theres a company here in Wisconsin that sells 7oz bottles of this lager. Fantastic with a bloody mary. Twist top bottles though, so you *could* cap them but the durability would obviously be an issue. I would definitely buy a ton of them if they were normal pry tops and bottle stuff like BDSAs/Wee Heavies/Barleywine/DIPAs in them.

You can use 7oz soda bottles. They're clear, which is less than ideal, but as long as you don't bottle condition outside you should be fine. I haven't seen any without soda in them, but you can either drink the soda or try to find a restaurant that sells them.

"Fruli" comes in 250ml bottles, but around here, it just switched to 330ml. You might be able to order a bunch of them depending where you are. Pretty nice stuff too.

I've got some little 8oz glass Coke & Sprite bottles. The painted-on labels on the Coke bottles come off with a little nail polish remover, but the Sprite ones do not.

I found a source for 8 oz. amber bottles at Alibaba.com. A minimum order 150,000 bottles. So, what do I do with the 149,919 bottles I don't need? If I could just get 1851 others to go in on it with me....

I don't know where you would source them but one of the local breweries here, Squatters, sells their RIS named Outer Darkness in the 7 oz bottles. I don't know where Squatters distributes but you might be able to find them. I know Uinta distributes by you so maybe Squatters does too.

I can get these here in Wisconsin:

Just stopped by my LHBS. They have 187 ml / 6.32 oz champagne bottles that take a crown cap. $1 each or $22.95 for a case of 24. 12 oz beer bottle is on the left for size comparison.

I've got 8 oz Coke bottles that I use when I want a beer after work, but before I start my work after work.
I see no reason to ruin the painted labels on the bottles, if I ever get tired of using them, I can still collect the Michigan $.10 deposit on them. That, and they look cool with a coke label full of beer.
Clear bottles are NEVER a problem, just keep them out of the light and in boxes.
