Do I need a new Panel

If my house breaker box has room can't I just add this to it and be good? Then add a wall outlet.

Why is everyone buying a new panel. Is there something I'm missing.

If it fits your panel, then yes. As crazy as it sounds though, it is usually less expensive to buy the GFCI spa panel. For example, that breaker will require you to run 6awg wire to your control panel, even if you only need 30 amps, and would require another 30 amp breaker if you wanted to run 10awg in the panel.

I plan on my control panel being 50A, so was already anticipating 6awg wire till I hit the brewing control panels inner breaker.

I have a 30 amp GFCI in my main panel feeding to where my control panel will plug in, really no big deal. Sounds like you have your wire gauge and power needs figured out so its all good.

Yes, that's fine. The point of the spa panel is that it's $50 and then a plain 50a 2 pole breaker is about $15 for most panels. You're a lot closer to break even with that price. The best price I found for a 50a GFCI for my Square D panel is over $120 so you can see why the $65 solution was more attractive.

I was going to use a GFCI power cord, but found a 30 amp GE breaker for $69 from Home Depot which was actually to code unlike the 30 amp GFCI power cords many are using. Figure better play it safe when it comes to electricity...name brand to code GFCI breaker or unknown make, not to code power cord...I choose life.
