All the adapters and the vinyl tubing were almost as much as the copper.
Is this normal, or did I buy the wrong adapters/tubing?

If you are able to solder the hose barb end over the end of your copper tube that would work. It may be possible to solder the barb inside the copper but that may be more difficult. This is if you want to be able to disconnect your hose from your chiller.

If your copper and vinyl are 3/8" OD and ID, respectively, then you should be good to go. Once you coil your copper into a chiller just clamp your vinyl hose sections on to each side (inlet and outlet), clamp your hose fitting into the other end of your vinyl supply hose, and go brew something. Be sure to check those clamp connections for leaks every time you use it. I have to use 2 clamps on the supply side and crank them down pretty well or else mine leaks.

It took me a couple of tries to get the faucet adapter right. I have to use the adapter that you linked plus an intermediate male/male adapter because of the way my faucet is threaded.

Bump. Finally getting around to putting this together. Fitted copper up, but can't get the vinyl to fit around yhe copper. Looks to be the same diameter for both. Oops!!
1/2 OD and 3/8 ID. So I need to get 1/2 ID vinyl now right?
