DIY Chest Freezer To Kegerator

So I want to converte a chest freezer to a kegerator. I have a pretty solid idea about how to deal with the taps and stuff from online reading, but I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on thermostat units from you all, and the pros and cons to the different types.

Excited to be a part of the forum and hope to start home brewing soon.

STC-1000 is the cheapest if you have even a moderate amount of DIY skill.
There are many DIY tutorials on putting one together in this subforum.

Its about $25 to get off Ebay and another 10-15 dollars in cords/project boxes/etc depending on which type go with and where you get them.

There are some arduino based controllers you can build. Check instructables.com

there is a thread on adjusting your coarse set screw to allow the freezer to operate in a temperature range higher than freezing. I and hundreds of other HBTers have also.
